After losing 2-0 at home in the first leg, Eintracht Frankfurt have a mountain to climb in Wednesday’s Champions League last-16 return leg against Napoli.
Oliver Glasner’s side made a strong start to 2023, but have fallen into a slump of late, with just one win in their last six games in all competitions.
The absence of prolific striker Randal Kolo Muani, who is suspended after being sent off in the first leg, and injured Danish attacker Jesper Lindstrøm won’t help Eintracht’s cause.
In the duo’s absence, Rafael Borré could start up front, with Daichi Kamada and Mario Gotze playing behind him. If Kamada is indeed moved forward from central midfield, Sebastian Rode and Moussa Sow could form a partnership in the middle of the park.
As for the home side, a seven-game winning streak came to an end against Lazio earlier this month, but the Serie A leaders returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 win over Atalanta at the weekend.
Alex Meret and Min-Jae Kim should be fit after shaking off knocks, while Mario Rui is pushing to start at left-back in place of Mathias Olivera, having missed the last two Serie A games through suspension.
