Here is our preview of Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League clash between Stade Brest and Bayer Leverkusen, including our predicted lineups.

Fresh from a hard-fought 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen continue their European campaign when they visit Stade Brest on Wednesday.

Having beaten Feyenoord 4-0 and AC Milan 1-0 in their first two Champions League games of the season, Die Werkself will be looking to make it three wins from three in Europe’s top club competition.

Brest also won their first two Champions League games of the season, beating Sturm Graz 2-1 and RB Salzburg 4-0, but Wednesday’s opponents are of a different calibre.

On the domestic front, things haven’t gone so well for the French outfit, who sit 11th in Ligue 1 after a 1-1 draw with Stade Rennes at the weekend, with the strain of European football seemingly taking its toll.

On the injury front, Locko (achilles) will miss the game, while Sima (hamstring) and Le Cardinal (muscle) are both doubts.

Leverkusen will be hoping that Florian Wirtz is fit enough to play from the start. The youngster suffered an ankle capsule injury during the international break and played just 30 minutes against Eintracht Frankfurt at the weekend. If he isn’t deemed fit enough to start, Adli is ready to step in.

Victor Boniface is a doubt after being involved in a car accident on Sunday morning. The Nigerian striker escaped with a minor hand injury, but could still get a break on Wednesday.

Robert Andrich had an impressive game alongside Granit Xhaka at the weekend, but could be rested with Exequiel Palacios and Aleix Garcia in contention for a starting berth in the middle of the park.
