Here is our preview of Wednesday’s Champions League quarter-final second leg between Bayern Munich and Arsenal, including predicted lineups.
After a 2-2 draw at the Emirates Stadium last week, everything is still up for grabs as Bayern Munich prepare for the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal.
The Bavarians are coming off a 2-0 win over FC Köln in which head coach Thomas Tuchel rested some of his key players while giving chances to the likes of Noussair Mazraoui, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Raphael Guerreiro and Mathys Tel.
Mazraoui is also expected to start against Arsenal, where he could fill in at left-back in the absence of the suspended Alphonso Davies, with Raphael Guerreiro offering a more attacking alternative.
Meanwhile, Pavlovic looks set to retain his place in central midfield, where he’s expected to start alongside Leon Goretzka.
In addition to Davies, Bayern will be without Kingsley Coman, Serge Gnabry, Sacha Boey and Bouna Sarr.
As for Arsenal, they haven’t had the best build-up to the game, as they slipped to a shock 0-2 defeat at home to Aston Villa at the weekend.
The game has left Arsenal sweating over the fitness of Martin Ødegaard, who was forced off in the 79th minute, with the Gunners doing all they can to get their captain fit for the crunch clash with Bayern.
