Here is our preview of Tuesday’s Champions League group stage clash between Union Berlin and Real Madrid, including predicted lineups.

Union Berlin will play their first-ever game on home soil against the mighty Real Madrid on Tuesday night when they welcome the Spanish giants to the Olympiastadion, where they are playing their home games in the Champions League this season.

With Union sitting bottom of Group C with just two points, it’s also clear that this will be the last game they play in Europe’s most prestigious tournament this campaign.

However, they still have a glimmer of hope of continuing their European quest, as a win over Real Madrid would see them move into third place and qualify for the Europa League, provided Braga lose to Napoli.

However, such a result would come as a surprise given the strength of Real and the struggles of Union, who sit 15th in the Bundesliga table, although they did end a 16-match winless streak with a 3-1 win over Gladbach at the weekend under new coach Nenad Bjelica.

On a 15-match unbeaten run in all competitions, Real Madrid have already qualified for the knockout rounds after winning all five of their Champions League games so far this season.

Union Berlin are sweating over the fitness of Sheraldo Becker (muscular), while Doekhi (foot) and Bonucci and Tousart (both suspended) will definitely miss out.

Real Madrid have a long list of injuries, with Courtois, Éder Militão, Tchouameni, Arda Güler, Camavinga, Vinícius Júnior and Carvajal all out.
