Mainz coach Bo Svensson has commented on the speculation over Jae-sung Lee’s future.
The South Korean recently wrote a blog post in which he hinted at a summer departure.
Speaking to Kicker, Svensson admitted Lee’s statements “surprised” him, but added:
“Things get lost in translation sometimes. I also notice that when I sometimes watch American movies with Danish subtitles.
“I see Jae-sung as an important player for Mainz. Not only in the coming months, but also in the time after that,” the Danish coach emphasized.
30-year-old Jae-sung Lee’s contract expires in 2024.
