Mainz have been boosted by the return of Jonathan Burkardt ahead of their clash with Freiburg.
Jonathan Burkardt is back at the disposal of Mainz coach Bo Svensson after a spell on the sidelines.
“He is available to us,” Svensson confirmed while speaking to Bild.
“It would be surprising if he is completely pain-free. But he trained this week and also looked good,” added the Mainz coach.
Svensson went on to describe Burkardt’s importance for Mainz.
“Johnny brings speed and individual class to the pitch. He scored eleven goals for us last season, so it’s pretty clear that he is now a key player for us. It hurts when he is out,” emphasized the Mainz coach.
