A thigh injury forced Niklas Süle off at halftime during Dortmund’s 3-0 win over 1860 Munich, which will now leave him out of the squad for the next 2-3 weeks. Mats Hummels came in to replace the former Bayern player, as he’s set to return to the starting lineup to pair with newcomer Nico Schlotterbeck in central defense.
Süle is unavailable for the Leverkusen contest this weekend and may be on the sideline for Freiburg and Bremen on Matchdays 2 and 3 as well.
Edin Terzić was pleased with the performance of Hummels this past weekend as he stated, “He was very present, strong in duels and clear in the passing game…A good team is shown not only by which players are on the pitch, but also by how strong the bank is.”
