According to ‘kicker’, Stuttgart want to sign either Ajax’s Alfred Schreuder or former Copenhagen man Jess Thorup to become their new head coach.

Per ‘kicker’, Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder is the second candidate that Stuttgart are after for their open managerial position. Stuttgart have already staged talks with former Copenhagen trainer Jess Thorup, as these are their top two choices to follow Pellegrino Matarazzo.
Pulling Schreuder away from Ajax seems like an extremely challenging task for a Bundesliga side with a relegation battle ahead. Schreuder did coach at Hoffenheim for several years, but it’s still believed that Thorup is the number one choice.
Interim coach Michael Wimmer will likely roam the touchline for Stuttgart’s games against Arminia Bielefeld and Dortmund this week until CEO Alexander Wehrle and Sporting Director Sven Mislintat make a final decision.
