Regional outlet Sud Ouest reports this afternoon that Strasbourg are in advanced talks to sign two of Bordeaux’s brightest young prospects in winger Dilane Bakwa, and versatile defender Junior Mwanga.
The Alsatians, who were recently taken over by Chelsea owners BlueCo, initiated discussions at the start of the week and have been following the pair for a while. Both Bakwa and Mwanga also have the same agent as Strasbourg’s new manager, Patrick Vieira.
Bakwa, enjoyed a breakthrough campaign last season after initially making his first senior appearances during Bordeaux’s previous two campaigns in Ligue 1. He scored five goals and registered eight assists in 36 games, and was the subject of interest from Lorient back in January. Mwanga, who is also 20 and plays regularly for France’s youth teams, was also a fixture in Les Girondins lineups last year. He notably impressed when he was moved up into a defensive midfield role midway through the season.
