Strasbourg closing in on Caleb Wiley signing

RC Strasbourg Alsace have been desperate to add a left-back to their ranks this summer. The French side had looked set to sign Pedro Lima (17) from Sport Recife, only for Wolverhampton Wanderers to hijack BlueCo’s move at the last moment.

Since then alternatives have been sounded out. KAA Gent’s Archie Brown (22), also on Olympique Lyonnais’ shortlist, emerged as a key target, however, RCSA’s focus has now turned away from the Englishman and towards Caleb Wiley (19), as per a report from L’Équipe.

In recent days Strasbourg have been making progress in the deal to bring the USMNT defender to the Meinau and it is thought that talks with Atlanta are heading in a positive direction.

Wiley, who made his debut for the USNMNT just over a year ago, is set to compete in this summer’s Olympics in Paris. He could ultimately remain in France as Les Alsaciens look to conclude the deal.
