Spanish fans following clubs across Europe receive boost as UEFA announce away ticket price caps

With ticket prices across the footballing world seemingly rising year after year, it is always welcome when fans receive news that something is being done to keep things from getting out of control.

This is the case with UEFA, who today announced that they are introducing price caps on away tickets across their European competitions.

The cap that is placed on away tickets will be €60 in the Champions League, €40 in the Europa League and €20 in the Conference League.

This means that Real Madrid, Barcelona, Atlético Madrid and Girona fans will be charged no more than €60 if they travel to watch their team across Europe, while Real Sociedad, Athletic Club and Real Betis fans will have access to even cheaper tickets.

UEFA also announced that they will again reduce this price cap in the 2025/26 season to further decrease the costs that travelling fans have to pay.

Supporters already have to take on the massive costs of travel and accommodation when following their teams across Europe, so this announcement is very welcome as prices in all areas of life continue to rise.
