New Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has today continued to showcase his faith in the next generation of breakthrough young talent emerging at the club.
This comes by way of the German’s travelling squad for Barcelona’s Champions League season opener.
The Blaugrana are set to make the trip to France on Thursday, for a meeting with Ligue 1 heavyweights AS Monaco.
Flick’s ranks have been rocked by a series of untimely injury blows in the buildup to the clash, with both Dani Olmo and Fermín López having been condemned to extended spells on the sidelines over the last 48 hours alone.
As much has opened up space on the Barca bench, which, as alluded to above, it has been decided will be filled by a group of La Masia talents.
As confirmed across the Catalan giants’ website and social media platforms on Wednesday afternoon, all of Ander Astralaga, Andrés Cuenca, Sergi Domínguez and cousins Toni and Guille Fernández have been included in the club’s squad to face AS Monaco.
Also featuring are the more familiar names of Héctor Fort and Gerard Martín, with the returning Ansu Fati front and centre, too.
