Mounting fears that Nico Williams may leave Athletic Club once his contract is up have been alleviated after the 21-year-old renewed his contract until 2027. Williams was being tracked by La Liga and Premier League clubs alike, with his contract set to expire in June 2024.
However, as reported by Mundo Deportivo, Williams has committed his future to his boyhood club, saying, “I am very happy to be here at Bilbao and stay here with my Athletic family. I have been here for 11 years, and all the coaches have helped me be who I am today.”
Athletic are currently fifth in the league, ten points behind league leaders Real Madrid.
