Michael Carrick Shares Carlos Baleba Injury Update After Roma

Michael Carrick has shared a worrying injury update on Carlos Baleba following their victory over Roma in the Champions League.

Baleba was substituted in the second half due to injury, and many United supporters are likely worried, given his importance to the team.

It was a thrilling night at Old Trafford, with the Red Devils turning around a 2-0 deficit to secure a 3-2 victory.

The Red Devils were 2-0 down after just 18 minutes, giving them a huge mountain to climb.

United remained 2-0 down at the break, but an inspired comeback in the second half allowed them to turn things around.

The comeback started as Bruno Fernandes scored from the penalty spot after 58 minutes, but it took a while for them to find their second.

In the 83rd minute, Matheus Cunha struck to level proceedings before finding a winner just three minutes later.

The Brazilian was then sent off in added time, but United managed to hold on in what is a crucial victory for both the club and Carrick.

The United boss has been under severe pressure following a disappointing start to the season, but the win over Roma might give him some breathing space.

Speaking to the media after the game, manager Michael Carrick provided an update on Baleba’s fitness. Carrick suggested that it doesn’t look great, but at the moment, he doesn’t have any timelines.

“Initially, it doesn’t look great. I haven’t got any timelines.”

It’s certainly not a positive update or good news for United fans, especially after Baleba has already missed a lot of the season through injury.

The tough-tackling midfielder made the move to Old Trafford in the summer transfer window from Brighton, but it took a while for him to make his debut.

Since coming into the side, Baleba has certainly improved United, even though they’ve still been struggling to get results.

The Cameroonian international has struggled to complete 90 minutes, and he’s yet to do so for the Red Devils since joining the club.

His fitness clearly isn’t up to scratch, and that was shown after picking up an injury against Roma.

Despite securing a victory over Roma in the Champions League, there’s no doubt Carrick is still fighting to keep himself in the job at Old Trafford.

Securing points in Europe is a positive, but their Premier League form is what will be concerning the owners the most.

United have picked up just one win from their opening nine Premier League matches, and that came against newly promoted Ipswich Town.

Only four sides in the Premier League have conceded more goals than them, while they are only above the relegation zone on goal difference.

It’s been a disastrous start, and it’ll be interesting to see whether the win over Roma can buy him more time.
