Southampton are reportedly close to signing Dinamo Zagreb star Mislav Orsic.
According to The Athletic, the two clubs have agreed a deal for the 30-year-old who is now set to move to the St Mary’s Stadium in this transfer window.
The Saints are massively struggling this season and are currently at the foot of the Premier League table.
They have already sacked Ralph Hasenhuttl and installed Nathan Jones in his place.
However, the Welsh boss has failed to bring any improvement so far at St Mary’s Stadium.
Since taking over the club in November, the 49-year-old has been unsuccessful to win any Premier League match.
The Saints look in desperate need for new recruits to boost their survival bid.
And as a good news for the fans, Southampton now look close to making their first signing of the January transfer window in the form of Orsic.
Everton and Nottingham Forest were also credited with an interest in the 30-year-old but it looks the Hampshire side have won the race for him.
Orsic plays as a left winger or attacking midfielder who is highly rated for his direct free-kicks and long shots.
The 30-year-old has been an important member of the Dinamo Zagreb team. He made an impressive start to the 2022-23 season, featuring in 27 appearances and registering 13 goals.
The talented left winger also represented Croatia at the 2022 World Cup. He scored once and contributed two assists in six appearances in Qatar.
