With Manuel Neuer out for the rest of the season, Bayern’s goalkeeper circus is in full effect. According to the Süddeutsche Zeitung, Gladbach’s Yann Sommer has requested to join Bayern in a discussion with the club about his future.
Florian Plettenberg of Sky Sport has also reported that Copenhagen have offered Australian keeper Mathew Ryan, who has a release clause of just €500K, to Gladbach.
Jan Olschowsky, at just 21 years old, is seen as Gladbach’s future in goal. The club seem unconvinced that 34-year-old backup Tobias Sippel can take over for the rest of the campaign if Sommer does walk.
Sevilla’s Bono, Frankfurt’s Kevin Trapp and Monaco loanee Alexander Nübel join Sommer as the candidates to at least temporarily stand in the Bayern goal.
