“Sometimes you should keep your mouth shut”

Markus Krösche has taken a swipe at Nadiem Amiri after the Mainz midfielder recently spoke about his failed move to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Nadiem Amiri recently discussed his decision to extend his contract with Mainz instead of joining Eintracht Frankfurt, telling Sport Bild that the latter were “disappointed” by his decision.

“That’s just how negotiations are. In the end, I have to do what’s best for me,” added Amiri, who claimed he and Eintracht were “quite far along” in their talks.

Amiri’s decision to open up about his failed move hasn’t gone down well with Eintracht Frankfurt’s board member for sport, Markus Krösche.

“I don’t want to say much about it,” Krösche told Bild when asked about Amiri’s comments.

“But as a player there are sometimes situations where you should keep your mouth shut.

“In the end, he chose Mainz. I don’t want to go into too much detail about how that happened. It’s better for the player if I don’t say that,” Krösche said.

According to Bild, Eintracht and Amiri had already ironed out a contract when Amiri tried to negotiate a better deal. Eintracht refused and the transfer didn’t take place.
