What’s the latest news involving Antony?

Manchester United completed the signing of Antony on deadline day, with them forking out £86million to seal the deal.

The winger has penned a five-year contract with the Red Devils, which could be extended by a further 12 months, while Antony has described the switch as ‘an incredible moment’.

He has also revealed that he is looking forward to playing under ten Hag again, having scored 22 goals and registered 20 assists during his time under the Dutchman at Ajax.

Although the the nine-cap Brazil international is now on Manchester United’s books, his new club were frustrated in their initial efforts to land him.

A proposal worth £76.3million was rejected by Ajax last week, while offers of close to £68million and £51million were also turned down earlier in the transfer window.

What has Pete O’Rourke said about Antony?

O’Rourke believes Antony has a bright future ahead of him and Manchester United have pulled off an astute piece of business.

The journalist feels the 22-year-old will quickly become a key player and be a hit with the Red Devils’ fanbase.

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT: “From glimpses of what we’ve seen he can do in the Eredivisie and also in the Champions League, he’s got real potential.

“He is a really exciting signing that will get the Old Trafford faithful off their seats as well, I think.

“He is a skilful forward who will definitely be a real attribute for Manchester United going forward.”

When could Antony make his debut?

Antony joined in the final hours of the transfer window, meaning he was unable to feature in Manchester United’s 1-0 win over Leicester City on Thursday.

However, he could be available when the Red Devils go head-to-head with Arsenal at Old Trafford on Sunday and is in line to make his debut against the north Londoners.

That will come as a boost to ten Hag because the visitors have made an impressive start to the new campaign, having maintained a 100 per cent winning run over the course of their opening five fixtures.
