Shakhtar Donetsk are set to sign Atletico Mineiro winger Alisson (19), according to a report from L’Équipe. The Brazilian was the subject of a failed approach from Leicester City during the January transfer window.
Shakhtar Donetsk have a tradition of recruiting from Brazil and that tradition looks set to be perpetuated by the arrival of Alisson from Atletico Mineiro. L’Équipe understands that the Atletico Mineiro academy product will join the Ukrainian club for a €14m fee. This impending deal comes just one month after Shakhtar Donetsk signed another Brazilian, Fluminese’s Kaua Elias (18) for a €19m fee.
Alisson could have gone to Leicester City during the January transfer window. As per L’Équipe, the Premier League club made a concrete approach to sign the Brazil U20 international but without any success. As a result, the young Brazilian, who has three goals and one assist in 43 appearances since making his first-team breakthrough, is now set for a big-money move to Shakhtar.
