Sevilla to trigger permanent option on Loïc Badé loan from Rennes

Having failed to make a single appearance while on loan at Nottingham Forest in the first half of the campaign, Loïc Badé’s mid-season move to Andalusia has turned out considerably better for the defender.

The former French youth international has made 16 appearances in all competitions for Sevilla, who look set to stave off relegation from La Liga and convincingly saw off Manchester United in their Europa League quarter-final this week – with Badé himself scoring the second in a 3-0 home win.

RMC Sport report this afternoon that the Spaniards intend to trigger the permanent option in his loan deal from Rennes, which is said to be close to the €15m mark, as soon as their top-flight status for next season is secured. The Frenchman will then sign a four-year contract, with the decision having been made a few weeks ago. Sevilla will have until May 31 to trigger the clause, after which they will no longer have a right of first refusal.
