Sevilla president José Castro has confirmed that the Spanish club will not be signing Manchester United forward Anthony Martial on a permanent basis this summer.
Martial joined Sevilla on loan in January, however, injuries and poor form restricted him to just nine La Liga appearances, scoring no goals and providing one assist.
“Anthony Martial will return to Manchester United. We spent a significant amount of money on him. He hasn’t performed the way we wanted, I don’t want to say that he hasn’t tried, but things haven’t worked out. Besides, he was injured and we are not going to buy him on a permanent deal,” Castro told Canal Sur.
