According to Foot Mercato, Sevilla are attempting to sign Sergio Ramos (37) on a free transfer. The former Spain international has been a free agent since his contract expired with Paris Saint-Germain in June. Ramos has been linked with several moves during the summer including a move to David Beckham-owned Inter Miami.
The former Real Madrid centre-back previously offered his services to the Andalusian club in the summer transfer window. However, Ramos was not a key target on the agenda of the club’s new sporting director Victor Orta. With the transfer window now closed, the situation has changed and Sevilla want to bring the 37-year-old back to his homeland.
Ramos currently has other options on the table with several clubs interested in signing him as a free agent. Besiktas have set a deadline of Monday for a response from Ramos on a deal offered worth €8m and Al-Ittihad are also highly interested in bringing the defender to the Saudi Pro League.
