La Liga outfit Sevilla have this week announced not one, not two, but three fresh setbacks on the personnel front.
This comes owing to developments in the club’s meeting with Espanyol on Monday.
The Nervionenses made the trip to Catalunya earlier this week, ultimately condemned to the wrong side of a 2-1 result at the hands of Espanyol.
And along the way, a trio of members of Matías Almeyda’s squad picked up injuries.
As confirmed in a statement across Sevilla’s website and social media platforms late on Tuesday evening:
‘Ruben Vargas and Adnan Januzaj suffered thigh injuries in the game against RCD Espanyol.’
And this news has since been followed by a similarly concerning update on the wellbeing of Chilean international Gabriel Suazo:
‘Gabriel Suazo suffered a calf strain in the game against RCD Espanyol. He will be monitored and his return will depend on how the injury heals.’
All three players are now expected to be forced to sit out Sevilla’s upcoming derby showdown with arch rivals Real Betis this weekend.
