Serie A outfit Monza are in talks with Bundesliga side Wolfsburg to sign midfielder Josip Brekalo.
The midfielder had spent the previous season on loan at Torino and while Il Toro had tried to sign him permanently, he wanted to join a club which played in the Champions League.
Daniele Longo has now reported that Monza are talking to Wolfsburg to sign Brekalo permanently and an agreement is being sought for a move. Talks are undergoing for a permanent move for a fee of around 8 million.
Brekalo is not the only renowned player that Monza are looking to sign. They are also in talks to sign former Atalanta star Papu Gomez, who is currently at Sevilla. Relations between his agent are excellent but it remains to be seen if the Spanish side are looking to sell him in January or not.
Berat Djimsiti is another player who is being sought as Monza look to improve their squad.
