Salernitana enjoyed the favour from VAR as its heavy involvement seemingly robbed Juventus of their third victory in the 2022/23 Serie A campaign.

After the defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in midweek, Juventus needed a rejuvenated performance. Therefore, the start of the game saw Max Allegri’s men keeping a high intensity.

The heads went down as soon as they conceded the first goal of the night, with Antonio Candreva directing Pasquale Mazzocchi’s cross into the net. VAR checked the sequence of the play for an alleged handball, but the goal stood at the end of the probe.

VAR showcased its authority once again as Bremer was penalised for a handball inside his own box. The following spot kick was dispatched clinically by Krzysztof Piątek. As a result, the side from Salerno ended the first half with a two-goal advantage.

In the 51st minute of the game, Filip Kostic put in a delicious ball for someone to head it home. Bremer, the culprit for the concession of Juve’s second goal, responded to the call and grabbed one back for the hosts with a thumping header.
