Schlotterbeck left with mixed feelings after Dortmund’s goal-fest win over Augsburg

Speaking after Borussia Dortmund’s 4-3 win over Augsburg, Nico Schlotterbeck said he was happy with the three points, but admitted the conceded goals left a sour taste in his mouth.

Borussia Dortmund centre-back Nico Schlotterbeck had mixed feelings after his team’s dramatic 4-3 Bundesliga victory over Augsburg today.
Schlotterbeck, who scored Dortmund’s second goal, was naturally pleased with the win, but lamented the defensive errors made by Dortmund.

“There were individual errors on both sides, especially with the conceded goals. It’s very difficult to explain the match. We had a lot of quality in the attacking positions: there was quality up top and less quality at the back,” Schlotterbeck said in a post-match interview.

“I don’t know if I should be delighted with the three points or frustrated about the three conceded goals. We did not give much away up until the first goal we conceded. I can’t really explain it.

“We went into the changing rooms at 2-2 and couldn’t believe it. The coach praised us because it was actually – except for the lapses in concentration – a good game. The second half was then not so good.”

Schlotterbeck and Dortmund sit sixth in the table – seven points behind league leaders Bayern Munich.
