Borussia Dortmund had to cope without Nico Schlotterbeck for their 2-0 win over Atalanta in the Champions League on Tuesday – and it looks like the Black and Yellows will be without the defender for some time.
According to Sport1, the BVB vice-captain will miss at least the upcoming Bundesliga game against RB Leipzig as well as the return leg against Atalanta next week due to muscular problems.
Dortmund are hoping to have their key defender fit for their top-of-the-table showdown with Bayern Munich on February 28.
The Black and Yellows also have to do without Niklas Süle and Emre Can in defence for the time being.
BVB coach Niko Kovac revealed on Tuesday that Süle will require a little more recovery time than the other two, without specifying an exact timeframe for any of them.
As for Filippo Mane, who is also sidelined, a return isn’t expected anytime soon.
