RB Leipzig are expected to seal a deal to sign Xaver Schlager from Wolfsburg in the near future.

According to both Kicker and Sky Germany, negotiations between the parties are at an advanced stage, with a deal worth around €12 million likely to go through shortly.

If Schlager moves to Leipzig, he’s not intended as a replacement for his Austrian compatriot Konrad Laimer, although the latter is being linked with Bayern München and looks likely to leave, per Kicker.

Instead, he could replace Amadou Haidara and/or Tyler Adams, who could both depart the club as well.

Wolfsburg paid €15 million to sign Schlager from RB Salzburg in 2019. He has one year left on his contract.
