Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger reports that SV Darmstadt 98 are about to acquire Bundesliga journeyman Sebastian Polter.

Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger reports that SV Darmstadt are set to acquire 32-year-old journeyman striker Sebastian Polter from FC Schalke 04. Polter recently played for Bochum during their first two most recent seasons back in the top flight after the 1848ers snapped him up on a free in the summer of 2021. He was sold to Schalke in the summer of 2022 and subsequently relegated along with die Knappen last season.
Polter has netted three goals and registered four assists in 13 appearances across all competitions for the second division Königsblauen this year. The Wilhelmshaven-native brings with him the experience of 21 top flight goals in 116 Bundesliga appearances for Bochum, Schalke, Wolfsburg, Nürnberg, and Mainz. Berger claims a six-month loan with a €500,000 purchase option is in the works.
