A transfer rumor initially popping up yesterday seems to have been quickly finalized. Last-placed Bundesliga side received a generous offer from Ligue 1’s 14th-placed club for attacking midfielder Florent Mollet. France’s L’Equipe reports that the German club is set to receive a transfer fee of €1.5 million plus performance-based bonuses.

The deal constitutes a €1 million net transfer win for die Knappen, who only paid €500,000 for the 31-year-old this past summer. L’Equipe reports that the transfer won’t be officially confirmed until early next week. Mollet will sign a new contract in Brittany good through 2025.

The cash infusion should prove sufficient enough for S04 chief personnel executive Peter Knäbel to purchase at least one attacker. After the recent injury to lead striker Sebastian Polter, the relegation-threatened side find themselves in need of extra attacking reinforcements.
