Foot Mercato are reporting that, following his omission from Paris Saint-Germain’s pre-season tour of Japan and South Korea, Kylian Mbappé (24) will be the subject of an approach from Saudi Arabia.
PSG are convinced that Mbappé has a pre-agreement in place to join Real Madrid in 2024, having informed the club by letter earlier this summer that he wouldn’t be triggering the one-year extension in his contract. Les Parisiens are therefore trying to construct their future without Mbappé, and the club’s latest big move puts pressure on the France captain to either leave this summer or sign the one-year extension, preventing him from leaving on a free at the end of the 2023/24 season. PSG have given him a deadline of 31st July to do so.
However, it is not only Real Madrid that are interested in Mbappé. According to Foot Mercato, Saudi Arabia are keen to sign the PSG forward, whose official position remains that he wants to stay at the Ligue 1 champions next season. After failing to lure Lionel Messi to the Gulf State, the Saudi government are prepared to make a huge contract offer for Mbappé in order for him to join Al Hilal.
