Bayern Munich and Germany star Leroy Sané says he’s often judged too harshly in public.
Leroy Sane has hit out at the public perception of his performances, saying he would like to see a more balanced assessment of his performances.
“I know myself that I need to reward myself more in some actions, that I need to score more goals, but I always have the feeling that I’m often judged harshly in public,” the Bayern Munich and Germany forward told Sport1.
“After a goal, I’m celebrated – after a few weaker performances, people discuss whether I’m still good enough for Bayern or even the national team. Of course there’s always room for more, yes – but I’m often evaluated too quickly in both directions. All in all, I’d like to see a more balanced approach.”
Although he is often the center of attention, Sané claims he doesn’t like being in the spotlight too much.
“Actually, I do not like to be the center of attention. That is why I do not give many interviews. For me, the focus is on training, the games and the work on the pitch. It is also important for me to spend time with my family,” Sané said.
