In a comprehensive interview with Kicker, Germany winger Leroy Sané shared his thoughts on his and Bayern Munich’s start to the season.

Having found the back of the net three times in three Bundesliga games, the 27-year-old is happy with his own performances so far.

“I feel really, really good. I already felt very good in pre-season. I feel the full trust of the coach and the club, the communication is very good, the current system suits me well. I’m enjoying the daily work. I hope things will continue in the same vein with the national team,” said Sané.

Although Bayern have maximum points after three games, Sané believes there is still room for improvement for the German champions, with RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen in particular offering competition, according to the winger.

“We’ve had a good start, but there are phases where there’s room for improvement – we’re aware of that. For me, RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen are our toughest rivals this season. Leverkusen had a remarkable summer and a good start to the season. They have signed very good players who will help the team. RB Leipzig have also been convincing,” said Sané.
