Bayern Munich boss Hasan Salihamidzic has given his verdict on the tie against Manchester City.
In today’s Champions League quarter-final draw, Bayern Munich were paired with English champions Manchester City.
Reacting to the draw, Bayern Munich board member for sport Hasan Salihamidzic said he is looking forward to a “top tie” against what he describes as the “strongest” possible opponent.
“I like playing against good teams. Our guys are very focused. This is a top tie. It’s a tough opponent, the strongest in my opinion. This is another final. After Paris, this is another team with a lot of quality,” he said in a video released by the club (via @iMiaSanMia).
“They won very convincingly against Leipzig. We’ll meet [former Bayern coach] Pep Guardiola again.
“Haaland is one of the best strikers in the world. But we defended very well against Paris. But I think City are even better at the moment. I think City vs. Bayern is the most exciting match in the quarter-finals.
“I think we do best against the best teams. Those are the highlights of the season for the fans. I’m looking forward to it,” said Salihamidzic.
