Hasan Salihamidzic gave an emotional farewell after losing his job as Bayern Munich’s board member for sport.

FC Bayern Munich’s outgoing director of sport, Hasan Salihamidzic, has given an emotional farewell after being relieved of his duties.
“I’m just proud of the boys, I really have to say that,” Salihamidzic was quoted as saying by Sky Germany after Bayern clinched the Bundesliga title with a 2-1 win over FC Köln.
“It’s emotional for me today and not an easy situation. Nevertheless, I wish everybody good luck and success.
“Of course I would have liked to continue. This team is really good. Good characters, good young players and a good mix.”
Although he would have liked to carry on, the 46-year-old insisted he accepts the decision.
“Of course. FC Bayern is above everything else and I’ve had really good talks with Uli [Hoeness] and Herbert [Hainer]. I want to remain a friend of FC Bayern.
“I am always emotional when it comes to FC Bayern, I have had many difficult situations, but also many beautiful ones. That’s why I want to thank you for the last six years.”
