Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender will join the club’s coaching staff.

The two former Dortmund players will serve as assistants to head coach Edin Terzic. Current assistant coach Armin Reutershahn is leaving the club at his own request.

“We have intensively analyzed the course of the season so far. One of our joint findings was that we wanted to inject new impetus into the coaching staff. In Nuri Sahin and Sven Bender, we are gaining two experts and personalities who will enrich us with their different experiences and qualities, both in terms of content and character,” said Borussia Dortmund sporting director Sebastian Kehl.

“We are convinced that the two will make us stronger as a team in order to achieve the goals we have set ourselves in the second half of the season.”
