Several reports claim that Sadio Mané will miss the World Cup due to an injury.
Bayern Munich and Senegal star Sadio Mané is apparently set to miss the upcoming World Cup in Qatar.
Mané was forced off with an injury in the first half of Bayern’s 6-1 victory over Werder Bremen last night.
According to France’s biggest sports newspaper, L’Equipe, the 30-year-old suffered a tendon injury that will keep him out of the World Cup, which will begin in less than two weeks.
In addition to L’Equipe, Senegalese publication Taggat is reporting that Mané is out of the tournament.
It goes without saying that Mané’s absence is a huge blow for Senegal. The Bayern star has found the net 34 times in 93 games for his country and both scored the winning kick when Senegal won the Africa Cup of Nations last year and in their decisive World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
