Sky Germany report today that Bayern Munich head coach Julian Nagelsmann spoke to Liverpool forward Sadio Mané on the phone, which resulted in a positive conversation.
The 30-year-old made it clear that he would like to join the Bundesliga side and didn’t make any particular demands regarding his playing position, making it clear that he would do his best in every position.
Bayern Munich bosses hope that signing Mané would help elevate the performances of Kingsley Coman and Leroy Sané with such an experienced figurehead at the club.
Negotiations are still ongoing but an agreement is likely, per Florian Plettenberg, who was the first journalist to exclusively report that Bayern Munich were interested in Mané on May 9.
Sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić remains in regular contact with his agent and there’s also the possibility that they will meet in person shortly.
Mané scored 16 and created four in 34 Premier League games for Liverpool last season.
