As reported by Bild, Sadio Mané will return to training in the coming days and will be fit to feature in the Bayern Munich squad that play PSG in the Champions League Round of 16 on March 8.
The Senegalese forward has been out for three months with a tendon rupture on the head of the right fibula that saw Mané miss the World Cup – he picked up the injury against Werder Bremen on November 8 and hasn’t played since.
However on Thursday, Mané trained with rehabilitation coach Thomas Wilhelmi and Prof. Dr. Holger Broich as he worked on his return. The 30-year-old will return to team training in the coming days, but will be no later than Monday – that gives Mané ample time to be fit enough for the Champions League second-leg against PSG.
Other training news on Thursday is that Kingsley Coman didn’t partake due to calf problems, but Noussair Mazraoui did return to training after being diagnosed with an inflammation of the pericardium following a positive Covid-19 test during the World Cup.
