Bayern Munich have confirmed that Sadio Mané has been suspended and fined following a misconduct charge which occurred after the club’s 3-0 defeat at Manchester City in the Champions League.
In the Bayern dressing room after a disappointing defeat, Mané got into an argument with fellow teammate Leroy Sané which resulted in Mané punching the German in the lip. The pair then had to be separated by fellow players and staff.
The Senegalese international only joined Bayern last summer and is now in a precarious position within the squad. The 31-year-old was present at training on Thursday where he made a public apology to his fellow colleagues. Despite this, the club have confirmed that Mané will not be in the squad for the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against TSG Hoffenheim and he is faced with a fine.
Whether the forward stays beyond this summer is still uncertain. Many reporters believe that the striker will leave during the summer window after just one season at the club.
