A not-so-closely guarded secret in the January transfer market should officially be confirmed soon, according to Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg. Separate Sky reports suggest that Leeds United are preparing to fork over a hefty transfer fee in the €30-40 million range for the 20-year-old French striker.
Rutter’s current estimated market worth stands at only €16 million. Plettenberg notes that the Sinsheim-based club would have loved to hang on to their developmental prospect longer, but could not resist the chance to “flip” a player they only paid some €750,000 to acquire two years ago.
Rutter has netted two goals and registered three assists in 17 appearances across all competitions for Hoffenheim this season. The Kraichgauer have already procured a serviceable replacement for the youngster in the form of Danish attacker Kasper Dolberg.
News #Rutter: If everything works out tonight the player could arrive Leeds tomorrow in order to complete his medical. Leeds was always pushing. Hoffenheim couldn’t say no to that massive financial package but would have loved to keep him longer. @SkySportDE 🇫🇷🇲🇶 https://t.co/8GpgipEfS7
