Rúben Amorim a ‘top’ candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool with release clause revealed

According to Foot Mercato, Rúben Amorim is a leading candidate to replace Jurgen Klopp as manager of Liverpool. The German coach is set to leave his role at the helm of Anfield at the end of the season, after announcing his exit in late January.

Xabi Alonso was long expected to replace the former Borussia Dortmund manager at Liverpool, with Bayern Munich also interested in the services of the Bayer Leverkusen manager. However, with the former Liverpool player confirming he intends to stay at Leverkusen, the Reds have been forced to look elsewhere. Amorim has now emerged as one of the frontrunners to take the soon-to-be vacant hot seat at Anfield.

Rúben Amorim is interested in moving to the Premier League as part of his next managerial move, according to Sports Zone. Liverpool are not the only club interested in the Sporting CP coach, with Chelsea and Manchester United also monitoring his progress. The former Braga manager is aware of the Reds’ interest but focused on his ongoing title challenge with Sporting, Foot Mercato report.

Release clause revealed

There has been some uncertainty about the Portuguese manager’s release clause at Sporting. However, according to Foot Mercato, the figure differs depending on if the club is based outside of Portugal. For clubs outside Portugal, the release clause stands at €20m, but for Sporting’s domestic rivals, the fee is €30m.
