Inter and Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he would like to stay at the Nerazzurri once his loan stint ends.
Lukaku had joined Chelsea from Inter in a big-money move back in 2021 but things didn’t quite work out for him under Thomas Tuchel and he gave an interview where he publicly stated his desire to return to Inter. He sealed a loan return to San Siro but his time so far has been plagued by injuries.
Lukaku has now given another interview to Sky Italia, with the Belgian speaking about a range of issues and a major topic that he gave his views on was his time at Inter and his future at the club.
The striker stated: “Everyone knows what I want [stay at Inter]. Now I have to do everything necessary with the team for Inter to win and then we can talk to Chelsea.”
He also spoke about his long-term future and revealed that he plans to return to Anderlecht at some point in his career, but also stated that Inter have the ambition to grow and that appeals to him.
He said: “The idea is to finish with Anderlecht. I’m 30 years old, my son started school here and plays in the Inter academy. I’m fine, Inter always has the ambition to continue growing. I want to stay here and do things right. I hope to do well with Inter in the next six months, work hard and then in the end we talk to Chelsea and hope to find a solution.”
Lukaku is expected to start for Inter in the upcoming game against Napoli, who are at the top of the table and are 11 points above the Nerazzurri.
