Roma set to sign Leandro Paredes from PSG

Having returned from a middling loan spell at Juventus, Leandro Paredes was duly placed on Paris Saint-Germain’s transfer list, with the Argentinian midfielder not in the Ligue 1 champions’ plans.

Earlier this summer, the World Cup winner looked to be on the verge of a move to Galatasaray. The transfer then collapsed over the player’s hesitation about the move to Turkey, with the Süper Lig champions instead turning their attention to other targets.

Discussions with Lazio had also taken place, although it now appears that the Argentine will return to Serie A by signing for the Biancocelesti‘s bitter local rivals. According to Foot Mercato‘s Santi Aouna, Roma have reached an agreement with PSG to re-sign Paredes for an estimated €5m fee. The 29-year-old, who played for the Giallorossi between 2014 and 2017, will return to the José Mourinho-managed side and put pen to paper on a three-year contract.
