Serie A side Roma have now sacked manager Jose Mourinho after the loss to Milan.
The loss left Roma ninth in the league and it was reported that the Portuguese had two games to stay in the job, with Verona and Salernitana coming up in the Serie A.
The club have announced that Mourinho has left the club with immediate effect and the statement from the club wishes the Portuguese well for his future, thanking him for his time at the Giallorossi.
During his time at the club, Mourinho won the UEFA Conference League and took the club to the final of the Europa League last season. The Conference League win ended Roma’s wait for silverware, but the club’s owners have stated that they believe that a change is now needed in the club’s direction.
The club will make a decision about a potential replacement soon, with several names already linked.
