Serie A side Roma have made first contact to attempt a renewal for manager Jose Mourinho.
The Giallorossi have beeen increasingly supportive of Mourinho and his comments in the media, having protected him to the hilt when it comes to his statements before the game against Sassuolo and they also announced a press blackout in response to some refereeing decisions made during the Fiorentina game.
La Gazzetta dello Sport (via TMW) have reported about Mourinho’s future, stating that confidence about his renewal is growing at the club. The Giallorossi are convinced that they want to renew his contract and first contact has been made with intermediaries already.
There is a long way to go for the process to fully formulate and come to fruition, especiallly because the terms about the duration of the contract are yet to be resolved. Mourinho currently wants a two-year deal, whereas Roma are only offering a one-year extension to the Portuguese.
