An insight into the fee expected to be demanded by Chelsea to allow Romelu Lukaku to join Roma on a permanent basis has been provided today.
Hitman Lukaku, of course, made the move to the Stadio Olimpico this past summer.
Despite intense links with Juventus, the Roma brass swooped in decisive fashion to bring the Belgian international in on loan for the season.
And Lukaku has since gone on to enjoy a fruitful start to life in Giallorossi colours, boasting a fine record of nine goals across 14 appearances to date.
In turn, it has come as little surprise to see speculation already begin to spread in the media, pointing towards Roma’s keenness to extend the 30-year-old’s stint beyond next summer.
And, as alluded to above, today, an insight into just how much such an operation would likely cost the capital giants has been forthcoming.
The info comes by way of Calciomercato, who have revealed that Chelsea have placed a €38 million price-tag on the head of their out-of-favour striker.
Roma, for their part, have already begun exploring all possibilities when it comes to Lukaku’s permanent arrival, keen to lower the fee as much as possible. That price-tag also remains valid for other potential suitors, with Chelsea’s fierce rivals Tottenham having been linked in the past.
