Roma and Inter keen on Genoa’s Morten Frendrup

Genoa’s Danish midfielder Morten Frendrup is attracting significant interest from Serie A giants Roma and Inter, with his club expected to sanction a major sale in the January transfer window, according to a report from TuttoMercatoWeb written by Marco Conterio.

The 20-year-old Frendrup was close to leaving Genoa last summer, but the club ultimately chose to sell other prized assets. However, TMW reports that the trend of Genoa completing one or two major sales each season—a pattern that has continued even under the new ownership—suggests Frendrup’s time to depart may have now arrived, potentially as early as January.

Specifically, Inter, led by directors Marotta and Ausilio, view Frendrup as a perfect profile to integrate into the squad rotation and potentially grow into a more prominent role, especially if Davide Frattesi is sold. Meanwhile, Roma is also strongly interested and is considering including midfielder Nicolò Pisilli in a deal to secure Frendrup for manager Gian Piero Gasperini.
