Roberto De Zerbi says loss against Auxerre was ‘turning point’ in Marseille’s season

Ahead of this weekend’s Ligue 1 clash against AJ Auxerre, Olympique de Marseille manager Roberto De Zerbi evoked Les Phocéens‘ earlier loss this season against Les Diplomates at the Vélodrome (1-3), and admitted that it came as a ‘turning point‘ in his pre-match press conference attended by Get French Football News.

“The first game against Auxerre was an important match at the Vélodrome, I wouldn’t say it was unfortunate at all. It’s best to lose once in this manner instead of keep losing and finding the same excuses,” said the Italian tactician. “I think we have progressed a bit everywhere and it was a match that was a turning point for us. Happily we have chosen the right path.”

Roberto De Zerbi’s men are looking for a fourth straight win in domestic action as Marseille travel to Auxerre on Saturday evening. “Everything has changed. Not just the results, but also the personality of the team,” finished De Zerbi on Friday at Marseille’s training ground.
