Tottenham Hotspur manager target Roberto De Zerbi is not looking to take a job right now, according to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge.
Spurs are on the hunt for Thomas Frank’s replacement after the Dane was sacked on Wednesday morning, with the club looking to make an appointment ahead of the north London derby on February 22.
De Zerbi has been heavily linked with the vacant role following his departure from Marseille this week, with GIVEMESPORT sources revealing that he would be willing to travel to London for talks about the Tottenham project, having turned down the chance to take the job previously.
De Zerbi ‘Wants Break’ After Marseille Exit
Posting on X on Thursday afternoon, Sky Sports’ Tottenham correspondent Bridge claims that despite the Italian being linked with a return to the Premier League – with Spurs the latest club mentioned – those close to him instead believe he will take a break after the end of his spell at Marseille.
The Italian left the Ligue 1 outfit following a 5-0 defeat against Paris Saint-Germain at the weekend, having already been persuaded not to exit the club earlier in 2026, according to GMS sources.
Tottenham now face a decision of whether they appoint an interim manager until the end of the season before targeting someone like Mauricio Pochettino, or another manager, when more people are likely to be available, or hiring a permanent manager now.
De Zerbi of course fits into the latter category, and it could be the wise decision for Spurs to go down the route given they lie just five points above the relegation zone in the Premier League and need a manager to pull the club together.
This is a breaking story. More to follow…
